J Fann Memorial Scholarship Fund

The JFann Memorial Scholarship was established by Student Achievement Partners Inc. in honor of Janelle Fann, a treasured friend and colleague and a proud alumna of Tennessee State University. Janelle committed her professional life to supporting mission-driven work in education. She was a Peace Corps member and worked to support improving education and opportunities for all students in her roles at America Achieves and Student Achievement Partners. Her interactions with educators and colleagues were always characterized by joy, humor and support. Janelle was always one to do whatever it takes to make our collective work excellent, often pushing herself and others beyond what they thought they could do. Janelle was full of life and personality, and shared her love of music, goats, a good shopping trip and books with all of those close to her. She was very proud of her experiences at Tennessee State University and often spoke of the challenges it took for her to get there with limited outside support. Her friends hope that this scholarship helps to support others interested in serving others and interested in pursuing careers in English or education as we honor her memory and the impact that her life has had on each of us.
