HCA Progression Scholarships for Health Science Majors
This scholarship will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students in their junior or senior year who have been accepted into a health sciences major (for rising junior students) or currently matriculating in a health sciences major offered by the College of Health Sciences. A minimum of a 3.25 cumulative GPA at the time of application and demonstrated financial need. These “progression scholarships” are awarded annually based on the schedule below:
Level III scholarships are students with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 and above: $3,000 per semester
Level II scholarships are students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 to 3.74: $2,000 per semester
Level I scholarships are students with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 to 3.49: $1,000 per semester
1. A student was awarded a Level I scholarship for the fall semester. At the end of the fall semester, the student’s cumulative GPA falls below 3.25. The student does not get the scholarship in the spring.
2. A student was awarded a Level III scholarship for the fall semester. At the end of the fall semester, the student’s cumulative GPA is 3.70. The student will not receive the Level III scholarship in the spring but will receive a Level II scholarship instead.
3. A student was awarded a Level II scholarship for the fall semester. At the end of the fall semester, the student’s GPA rises to 3.75. The student will receive a Level III scholarship in the spring semester.
Scholarships cover fall and spring semesters only, not summer sessions. Scholarships do not carry from one year to the next. It is the responsibility of the student to apply for the scholarship every year.
