Roy G. Post Foundation
The scholarship will be available to all students pursuing careers in the radioactive waste management, environmental remediation or nuclear energy industries.
1. Student is pursuing degrees in environmental science, pre‐engineering, engineering,
biology, chemistry or other relevant fields.
2. Student is full‐time with at least 15 hours and a minimum GPA of 3.0
3. Students who are U.S. citizens.
4. Student demonstrates financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA).
5. Student completes a 200‐word essay on “pursuing careers in the radioactive waste
management, environmental remediation or nuclear energy industries.”
6. Student is able to provide contact information post‐graduation.
Benefits to the scholarship awardee attending WM2025, March 9-13, 2025 in Phoenix, AZ:
1. Airfare (student books and WM reimburses)
2. Lodging (booked by WM and direct billed to WM)
3. Stipend (that WM gives to the student) for food and transportation, and
4. Registration fee (that WM waives for the entire week as a student full technical registration). A code will be sent to the recipient that they will enter during registration.
1. Recipients will submit an abstract and present a poster at WM2025. Their poster will be featured with all other scholarship winners during the opening reception for the conference. This is a great opportunity to network and show off their studies/research!
2. Recipients are honored at the Tuesday Next Generation Reception
3. Recipients can participate in a Young Professionals Networking event
4. Recipients have an opportunity to work at the conference as a student assistant. They will receive cash payment at the conference if they wish to participate in helping with technical sessions.
5. Recipients will have photo opps, be featured in publications and in our “see how our scholarship winners develop” initiatives
6. Recipients have the opportunity to join our social media networking accounts (LinkedIn/Facebook) that are specific to Roy G. Post
7. Recipients will have an opportunity to speak with firms about employment as we expect our 3rd annual Job Fair to occur both live and virtually at this year’s conference
