The Avon Products Scholarship in memory of Sylvia C. Coleman

Established in memory of Tennessee State University alumna Sylvia Coleman, this scholarship honors her remarkable professional journey, leadership, and dedication to empowering others. Sylvia began her career in insurance and went on to hold roles with Fulton County Government, Coca-Cola, and Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company before choosing to focus on her family as a stay-at-home mother. She later embarked on a highly successful career with Avon as a Sales Representative. Through her exceptional performance, dynamic personality, and genuine passion for people, Sylvia advanced to the role of District Sales Manager. In this capacity, she mentored and inspired hundreds of representatives throughout the Atlanta area, leading with compassion, encouragement, and integrity. Sylvia’s outstanding sales achievements earned her recognition in Avon’s prestigious Circle of Excellence for eight consecutive years, an unparalleled accomplishment that provided her opportunities to travel internationally. Her success was further recognized through features in national publications, and she was an active member of the National Avon African American Council.

This scholarship seeks to support students who embody Sylvia’s spirit of perseverance, leadership, and excellence.
