Alfred and Lesia Riddick Engineering Achievement Scholarship
The Alfred and Lesia Riddick Engineering Achievement Scholarship was established by Class of ’97 alumna Lesia Riddick and her husband, Alfred Riddick, Jr., to support students majoring in mechanical engineering at Tennessee State University. Recipients must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and preference is given to students involved in engineering organizations such as National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, or American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Lesia Riddick serves on the TSU Foundation Board and most recently held the role of Secretary. She is also a Lifetime Member of the TSU National Alumni Association. The Riddicks are Legacy Society donors and strong advocates of financial literacy and philanthropy. Their financial fitness journey led them to achieve debt freedom by age 33, a milestone that has been featured in Black Enterprise and other national publications. Their philanthropic support extends to Tennessee State University, Alfred Riddick Jr.’s alma mater North Carolina A&T State University.
